The Day of the Vet Visit Arrives
The long-awaited veterinary appointment finally arrived, and the entire Johnson family went together, eager to find answers. They tried to treat it as a routine check-up, but the tension was palpable. Alex gripped Nix’s leash tightly, while Emma whispered, "He looks even more anxious than usual." Nix’s ears swiveled toward every sound, and his paws shifted restlessly. Mrs. Johnson tried to reassure everyone: "It’s just a check-up—that’s all." Yet even she could not mask the anxiety in her voice. They all hoped the vet would offer a logical explanation for Nix’s mysterious markings and behavior, though a part of them was also bracing for the unexpected.
A Tense Arrival
As they stepped into the clinic, Nix’s body went rigid. His muscles tensed, and his eyes darted from wall to wall, tracking every movement. Mr. Johnson tried to soothe him with a gentle pat, murmuring, "It’s okay, boy. You’re doing fine." The receptionist smiled and complimented Nix on his striking appearance, but her friendly tone seemed to do little to calm him. Ethan leaned close to his parents and whispered, "Do you think he knows what’s about to happen?" Mrs. Johnson gave a slight shrug, her lips pursed tight with worry. The air in the clinic was thick with tension; everyone could sense that today would be no ordinary vet visit.
